‘Grey’s Anatomy’: Do Not Resuscitate

First O’Malley, then McSteamy, now McDreamy? With the “Grey’s Anatomy” season premiere looming around the corner, fans are worried about what is in store. Although “Grey’s Anatomy” started off great, with snarky interns and overbearing residents, this still-hit show has taken a turn. It all started with the death of George O’Malley.

Legendary creator Shonda Rhimes killed off George even though his character had a future set out ahead of him in the show. In the same heart wrenching season, Rhimes kicked off “Doctor Model” Izzy Stevens because she had a spat with the actress Katherine Heigl. Many believe that Rhimes should have kept George and just allow Izzy to die instead of allowing both of them to go. Next came the dreaded plane crash—the plane crash where McSteamy perished. Mark Sloan’s death was only justifiable because he could not live without the love of his life, Lexi Grey, making this death, although tragic, one that did not come as a shock to many. And now, the hardest topic to speak of: McDreamy. Up in the mountains where he had clearly lost phone service, a miraculous call came through to Derek Shepherd’s cell phone. Of course he had to reach for the phone under the seat while drifting to the middle of the road only to get barreled by a truck. His death, the most ridiculous of all deaths, cut into the hearts of fans with a scalpel that will never be removed. So Shonda, what are you going to do to us next?
