Despite devastation, ‘Black Panther’ sequel prepares to dazzle audiences
After the release of “Black Panther” in 2018, the sequel has been long anticipated. The second movie, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will be released on November 11. The original movie starred actor Chadwick Boseman, who sadly passed away in August of 2020. The directors of the movie decided not to recast Boseman, as well as avoid a digital double. The audience can expect the death of Boseman’s character, T’Challa, to be included in the storyline.
With the death of the main character, audiences are unsure of what to expect from the sequel. Although the plot had to be reworked after Boseman’s death, many original cast members are still expected to return. Lupita Nyong’o will continue her role as Nakia, Danai Gurira will return as Okoye, and Letitia Wright will appear in her role as T’Challa’s younger sister, Shuri. The movie will also introduce a few new characters to the scene. Dominique Thorne will play Riri Williams, a superhero known as Ironheart, and Tenoch Huerta will play the main antagonist, Namor the Sub-Mariner.
Continuing the story with a new plot line and lead cast, the sequel movie will explore Wakanda with new villains. With the first trailer released in October, audiences were given a taste of the storyline. Following King T’Challa’s death, Queen Ramonda, Shuri, and M’Baku fight to protect their home from opposing forces. The sequel will include Wakanda and Atlantis, both hidden civilizations with advanced technology. Like Wakanda, Atlantis separated itself from society due to fear of danger, and when the two nations collide, tensions rise.
The trailer also gives audiences a view of the new black panther. Following the death of T’Challa, someone new will carry on the Black Panther title. Although the new Black Panther’s identity has not been officially stated, the suit appears to be worn by a woman. Marvel remains secretive about her identity, but fans have their own theories. The most popular theory is that Shuri will take over the role of Black Panther, but there are other theories too.
Although Marvel did have to rework their original plot, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is expected to be an entertaining story with fantastic visuals.
