‘Midnights’ set to leave Swifties ‘Enchanted’
October 21 is the most awaited day of 2022 for all Swifties. During the 2022 VMAs, Taylor Swift announced the date of her new album: ““Midnights”.” She dropped the news during her award speech for Video of the Year with ”All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version),” a ten-minute video. The album will consist of a total of 13 songs and will be divided into two parts: A and B. The songs that “Midnights” will feature are speculated to be her most heartfelt and saddening ones yet. She calls them via Instagram “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.” Not only will “Midnights” be Swift’s first entirely new album in two years, but it will also become her tenth official studio album.
The album’s concept has a minimalistic approach and features Swift in shimmery light blue eyeshadow with her signature red lips. Apart from the general graphics of the album cover, “Midnights”’s sales are estimated to reach between 3 to 7 million. Fans will be able to purchase physical copies of the album through vinyl, CD, and cassette tape. The vinyl will include a collectible album sleeve, an eight-page booklet with “never-before-seen photos” and even a gatefold photo. The CD package will contain distinctive disc artwork and a full length photo booklet. In addition, Swift is also releasing three limited edition versions of the vinyl: “Midnights: Jade Green Edition Vinyl,” “Midnights: Blood Moon Edition Vinyl,” and “Midnights: Mahogany Edition Vinyl,” each with its own unique themed color. Swifties around the globe are expected to set their alarms and use multiple devices while trying to get their hands on one of these items.
Swift’s enormous fanbase spreads all around the world. Moreover, even those who are not her biggest superfans have demonstrated interest in her new album release. Sophomore Anna Barbel says that although she does not know many details of the upcoming release, she is very excited about it. Junior Bridget Martin, believes,
“that this will be a big step forward in Swift’s career, especially since a lot of her recent stuff has been re-recording. Hearing originals will be nice and it is also a very personal album for her which I think fans will like.”
With this in mind, the world awaits the release of “Midnights” and the many more albums and accomplishments that will come in the near future for Taylor Swift.
