Fans marvel at wide array of super-content
From what has been revealed to us, 2022 is going to be a huge year for superhero content, TV shows and movies alike. An upcoming movie that has by far captivated the most people and garnered the most attention is “The Batman”, directed by Matt Reeves, which is slated for release on March 4. From the footage shown so far, it is reminiscent of an earlier Batman movie, “The Dark Knight”, which is considered one of the greatest movies of all time, even outside of the superhero genre. This movie, similar to “The Dark Knight”, appears to be taking a darker direction with storytelling and overall premise. This will be quite a lengthy movie, coming in at around two hours and 55 minutes. It was also originally meant to release in 2018, but due to several factors and changes in management, it is now going to release this year.
Other than DC, Marvel also has plenty of exciting upcoming content for this year. The Marvel character Moon Knight is finally getting a TV show adaptation, and the first episode releases in two months on March 30. Individual movies aside, 2022 has a noticeable trend, which is the sheer number of sequels and reboots releasing this year, mainly the second “Into the Spider-Verse” movie and also “Black Panther 2”, both of which are releasing later this year between October and November, unless they face further delays. Both movies’ predecessors had received incredible reception, “Black Panther” receiving three awards and “Into the Spider-Verse” receiving a whopping forty, including Best Animated Picture at the Academy Awards. They performed well at the box office and won several awards. Therefore, to capitalize off of these successes, efforts are made to make sequels. Unfortunately, some sequels can be lackluster and not live up to the source material, but as for these, fans will have to wait and see.
