Adele has embarked on an amazing career and continues to top the charts in many countries around the world. She released her newest album, “25,” in November 2015. This album sold more than three million copies in the United States alone in the first week of its release. Recently, Adele has been chosen to be featured on the cover of the March 2016 issue of Vogue Magazine. Her amazing career so far has led her to this point.

Adele Adkins was born on May 5, 1988, in North London. Her mother, Penny Adkins, gave birth to her when she was only 18 years old. Her father, Mark Evans, left when Adele was four years old. He stayed in contact with Adele until she became a teenager, but by that time, his alcohol problems had become worse. Her mother enrolled her in the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. A class project had her record tracks and post them to her MySpace page. Agents from XL Recordings heard the tracks and were amazed. The November after she graduated, Adele signed a record deal.

Adele recorded and released her first album in 2008. She called it “19” after the age that she was when she wrote it. She won Best New Artist at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Hit songs on this album include “Make You Feel My Love” and “Chasing Pavements.” Two years later she released her second album, “21.”  Many prominent songs featured on this album include “Rolling in the Deep,” “Rumor Has It,” “Someone Like You” and “Set Fire to the Rain.” “21” was inspired by an ex-boyfriend, and it was used to show him that she was over him.

On Oct. 19, 2012, Adele gave birth to her son, Angelo Konecki. It was so important to her to become a mother because it had been a dream of hers for so long.

“25,” her latest album, was released last November. The next day, she debuted her single, “Hello.” This is the first song ever to sell more than one million copies in the first week. She has since released a second single from the “25” album, “When We Were Young.” This album is about doing all the activities she was never able to do, as well as about apologizing for several things she hadn’t done.

Adele has won 95 awards so far in her career, and she has had more than 180 nominations. She has won one Academy Award, one Golden Globe, four Grammy Awards and many other awards.

The March issue of Vogue contained an interview with Adele. It included conversations about the album and her personal life.
