Staff changes have Saint Viator have been a central part of this year’s impact on students. In the 25-26 school year, the English department welcomed two new teachers— Ms. Diana Guerrieri and Ms. Caylee Fournier. The Viator Voice recently spoke with Ms. Fournier to learn more about her person and her impact on our school.
“I usually spend time hanging out with my friends, with my family, or both,” said Ms. Caylee Fournier when asked on how she spends her weekends. She also enjoys crafts, especially little projects that let her get creative, and lately she’s gotten hooked on audiobooks.
“They make the drive so much nicer,” she said about her long commute from the city— she added that losing herself in an interesting story makes the traffic feel a little less frustrating.
Her taste in entertainment is wide-ranging. The UIUC and Northwestern graduate loves rewatching Game of Thrones for the epic drama but also turns to Adventure Time when she wants something more light-hearted and fun. Her favorite movie is Spy, a film she calls her comfort watch because it always makes her laugh.
If she could travel anywhere tomorrow, she’d return to Greece, especially Santorini.
“It’s just so gorgeous— blue water, white buildings, and friendly cats everywhere,” she said. Traveling, for her, is all about those little moments: chatting with the locals, exploring secret hidden corners, or simply just enjoying the scenery.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Fournier has lots of creative dreams. If she wasn’t teaching, she’d love to be a singer, actress, or comedian. She also mentioned she could see herself working at an animal shelter because of her love for animals and volunteering. Ms. Fournier finds admiration in author-actor Daniel O’Brien, someone whose humor and creativity she didn’t hesitate to bring up.
Whether she’s recommending an audiobook, sharing a funny story in class, or talking about a favorite trip, Ms. Fournier brings warmth, humor, and curiosity to everything she does. She’s already made her mark on the community, and it’s easy to see why students enjoy learning from her so much.
