There’s a new addition to our school’s lineup of clubs this year, and it’s already creating plenty of excitement, the Polish Club! Sponsored by Mrs. Skirucha, this friendly new group celebrates Polish culture, traditions, and community. The best part is that you don’t have to be Polish to join. The club is open to everyone who wants to learn, share, and enjoy being part of something new.
The Polish Club is all about connection and appreciation. Members meet to talk, share experiences, and explore the many aspects of Polish culture, from its deep history and language to its colorful customs and celebrations. Each meeting provides an opportunity for students to experience something new, often centered around food, music, and conversation. Whether you have Polish roots or are simply curious about another culture, everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate.
Mrs. Skirucha, the club’s moderator, hopes “to make the Polish Club a place where students can build friendships while gaining a greater understanding of global traditions.”
The meetings are relaxed, welcoming, and filled with laughter, the kind of environment that makes it easy to connect and feel part of a community.
Throughout the year, the club plans to host cultural events, explore Polish art and music, and even learn a few basic words and phrases in the language. Members may also discuss holidays, customs, and stories that highlight the beauty and uniqueness of Polish heritage. Every activity is designed to bring people together and create a space where students can appreciate diversity while sharing their own perspectives. It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover how culture can bring people together and create lasting bonds.
Natalia Chacia, one of the club’s leaders, shares that “Polish Club is an excellent way for people to learn about the culture and traditions of Poland as well as the way Saint Viator students live them out.”
So, if you’re looking for a new club that’s all about good company, great conversation, and celebrating diversity, the Polish Club might be the perfect choice. Stop by a meeting, say hello, and see for yourself why this welcoming new group is quickly becoming one of the most inviting clubs at Saint Viator!
