Coming to terms with Trump’s term

Donald Trump is truly a man of unprecedented proportion. From his reality TV star status and his outrageous campaign to his status as the 45th president of these great 50 states, he is truly a man that stands out. His first few days have defined his administration and have set the tone for the future of this country.

President Trump began his tenure as president by issuing an executive order that began the rollback of Obamacare. With hope, he wants to allow for the free market to run its course and decrease the amount of government health care involvement. Along with rolling back Obamacare, Trump began to fulfill his other promises by renegotiating NAFTA, pulling out of TPP and beginning to build the wall on the Mexican-American border that he endorsed heavily on the campaign trail. Still, for a tired American people, it is nice to have a president who follows through with what he has campaigned for. He may not be perfect, but he truly does want to make America great again. It is a great feeling to have a president that cares more about his country than his political party unlike many others in both parties. Trump responded to the Women’s March protests in a respectful way.

“Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don’t always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views,” said Trump, in response to the protests. He showed no intention to do the harmful things that people believed he would do, and he ultimately does not have that much power.

Many citizens are currently worried that Trump will rob them of rights that have been secured by presidents previously; however, they can rest easy knowing that there is Congress, the Supreme Court and the people themselves that would be able to defend themselves. Whether you like it or not,  President Trump deserves a chance to do well and should be given that chance by all people.
