Starbucks cups stirring controversy

Starbucks cups have changed in festivity over the years.

Christmas time is here, and with that comes the warm, cozy feelings from the wool sweaters, toasty fires and festive Starbucks coffee drinks. However, Starbucks is not so festive this year, and many customers are turning into a large group of angry elves because of it.

The company has decided to change its festive holiday style cups to a more basic and simple design. Customers are outraged and say that Starbucks is ruining Christmas, but are they really? Starbucks changed the design to be more general to its audience. Not everyone who goes to Starbucks celebrates Christmas or is involved in the Christian faith, so why should they single out those customers just to please the ones who do celebrate the holiday?

Starbucks clientele need to relax about the whole cup controversy. Coffee cups do not define Christmas. The spirit of giving and family is the main part of the holiday. People must participate in cherishing others and the time people spend together. If people focus on irrelevant things, they lose meaning to the holiday. People need to stop focusing on the Starbucks cups. It is a cup that will end up in the garbage in 20 minutes, not something that Christmas was founded on.
