With homecoming approaching quickly the question that remains on everyone’s mind is “what will be different this year, and what will be improved from previous ones?”
Well this year’s homecoming seems to be more unique than older ones! With such a charming theme compared to last year’s disco theme students can expect a more enjoyable night on Saturday October 5th! From the interesting theme this year, to the anticipated football game, and pep rally this year’s homecoming seems to be set on a more exciting track. The theme this year focusing on Greece is much different from previous themes, being much more creative and complex. We can expect the decorations to be much more detailed and unique compared to previous ones. With such a complex theme this year many may experience trouble finding the perfect outfit, but the outfits this year will be much more unique and thought out! This year’s homecoming week shirts are yet another highlight of the event, having different colors than last year’s shirts . The shirt’s design featuring the Viator logo atop a classical Greek building.
When asked for her opinion about this
year’s homecoming shirts Sophomore Cassie Martinez said “I think homecoming will be better this year because of the unique theme, and I am excited to see all the Greek themed decorations! I also love the Greek design on the homecoming shirt and how it is a nice shade of pink”.
Many other students agree with her opinion! With the improved designs on the homecoming shirts we can expect more purchases of the shirts compared to last year and more people wearing it throughout the week and during the homecoming pep rally.
While sophomores, juniors and seniors are already aware of how homecoming usually takes place, many freshmen such as Suzannah Keene feel “Excited and hopeful that the event will be a memory that they look back on for years to come”.
The homecoming experience for freshmen is one of the most memorable events in the whole year and is what they are usually most excited for. With how popularized homecoming is in all high schools it is easily the most anticipated event of the whole year. With each school’s dance being unique, Saint Viator’s experience is one of a kind. This overall excitement around the school surrounding homecoming is a spreading sensation among students, especially with the homecoming game coming up. Many students feel that this game is one of the most exciting events of the whole special week, with a revamped football team and more enthusiasm than ever before this game will hopefully be one of the best.
Many students such as Ante Cuvalo ‘27 can’t wait for the approaching event stating that “I can’t wait for the game this year, I am very hopeful and excited for everything that homecoming week will have to offer this year”.
A major change that has become apparent this year is how late homecoming week is this year, last year being at the start of September while this year being the first week of October, many students are glad for this change as it gives them more time to prepare for the event. Buying their outfits, planning where to meet up with friends, and other activities are a major part of the homecoming experience. Providing the night with even more unforgettable memories. Some students even say that hanging out with their friends before the dance ended up being their favorite part of the whole night. Homecoming week is a special event that is greatly anticipated each year that should be enjoyed to the fullest by everyone. With everything that will occur during the week and especially with everything the event will have to offer this year it should be a special occasion enjoyable for everyone.
