Whether driving through Michigan Avenue in Chicago or along 34th street in New York, observing the colorful Christmas lights and beautiful decorations truly sets the joyful scene for the holiday season. Macy’s, formerly Chicago’s Marshall Fields, particularly stands out. Not only do their decorations stun shoppers, but their iconic windows draw in a captivated audience. Over the years, Macy’s holiday windows feature gift ideas and decorations, ranging from bikes and toys to kitchen tools and more. This serves as an effective marketing tactic, enticing people to step in the store and make purchases.
According to Secret NYC, last year’s theme in New York celebrated togetherness and festive nostalgia. This year’s theme according to CBS News is “Give love.” Each window highlights the adventures of lovable reindeer Tiptoe and her friends. I think that this is a great theme for this year, as the holiday season is a one to celebrate friendship As for the festivities at Macy’s there are still plenty of holiday activities to do, and attending the lighting of the Great tree in the walnut room on 112th street, an experience that not only can bring you and your family closer together but also brings smiles to everyone’s face. Macy’s iconic holiday windows and festive traditions throughout their store have brought Chicago families together for years and the tradition continues on this year.
