As of recent, Chicago sports teams have been performing great; the Bears are 9-3, the Bulls are 9-10 and the Blackhawks are 9-5-4 in their respective seasons. With the success of these teams, now is the perfect time for our school to acknowledge their success. Many students at Viator are fans of Chicago sports teams and doing something to celebrate the success of our favorite teams would be a great way to boost school spirit and create a more positive atmosphere at our school.
One benefit of celebrating Chicago sports teams at Viator would be the positive impact it would have on our school spirit. Many students who root for these teams may not be friends, and by giving students an opportunity to celebrate these teams, we can help students connect with new friends who also support these teams. This would help them build new and meaningful relationships with others in our school who they may not have talked to otherwise. Also, it could be fun for students who don’t support these teams or aren’t interested in sports, as they will still be able to have a fun time and hang out with their friends during school.
Another benefit of celebrating the success of these teams would be supporting a positive atmosphere in the school. Finals are coming up next month, which tends to be a stressful time for many students. By doing a celebration at school, this can help students debrief and take away some of the stress we are currently experiencing. This would help lighten the mood and make students less stressed before finals. Even a small thing like a dress down day would help boost the mood and give students a fun thing to look forward to. By doing something fun like this before finals, students will feel more motivated allowing us to study and prepare better for them.
