Ocean’s 8 Steals the Summer Movie Scene

One of the summer’s top films, “Ocean’s 8” emulates everything a great movie should be. From its cleverly-placed comedy, to its glittering costumes and jewelry, and even its dashes of star power, “Ocean’s 8” leaves audiences on edge for a cool hour and fifty-one minutes. The film, which stars Hollywood legends Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, and Anne Hathaway (just to name a few), masterfully alludes to the previous films in the series, but it avoids an oversaturation of cameos and references which makes this a fresh and thrilling piece in the franchise. The all-female lead cast creates a current, striking tone, while still retaining the magnetism of the previous films. While most of the film’s impeccable cast are Hollywood veterans, newcomer Awkwafina provides witty, comedic lines that add flair to the film. “Ocean’s 8” proves to be one of the summer’s best-executed movies.
